Build a she-shed, they said

Depending on the time of year, my "studio" is either on the kitchen table, to which we added a leaf and I have 1/3 or I commandeer my husband's garage, where he so graciously gave me my own desk and chair in the corner. I'm also a very organized disorganized person. My actual work space is clear of extras and tools are always put in their place. Pens are upright and sorted by size. If i took a snapshot of it, one would think I have of touch of obsessive compulsive disorder with everything so orderly, but then... *pan right*, is the REAL me. All my supplies in the corner of the kitchen/dinning room. All piled up into on medium sized heap. No, I am not a hoarder and my whole house is not this way, I've just got no room! I live in a 3 bedroom 1000+ sq ft house where all rooms open into the great room consisting of the kitchen, dinning room and living room. As for the garage, I kind of feel bad using it. It's my husband's get away place where he can work on one of his many motorcycles or do a little wood working. I was talking to my mom the other day about this very subject. I was telling her my long term goals for Rock & Co. Creations. One of those goals is to build a she-shed/studio on the side of our house. One that has shelves and cabinets for storage. One that I

can leave out my unfinished work or leave the colors I'm using, laying on the table until the piece is completed. Of course it must be hooked up with heat and electricity. Just think of the better organization and efficiency. I could work in the middle of the night without waking members of the family. I would have to get up to go out to "work", making it necessary to get ready for the day instead of working in my pj's at my leisure. I could turn up my music and listen to my favorite artists instead of fighting to be the first one to connect to the speakers. I could actually keep an inventory of 30 or so stones as i would have the space. I know I'm still a couple years away from my dream she-shed/studio, but i really think it's doable.
