It's A Scary, Scary World These Days

I'll just come right out and say it... I'm scared! The world has gone nuts! Fire, famine, pestilence, floods, drought, governments crumbling, civil unrest, and this is all within the first 6 months of 2020! I'm afraid to ask what's next. The zombie apocalypse?! I don't have an answer to any of this, nor do I have any advice. I'm merely here as an observer. As an example of what the world has come to; My parents are in their 80s and I'm so glad that they are in relatively good health, however, they are sticking to the social distancing guidelines so I've only been to visit them twice since this whole Covid-19 began in the middle of February. The first time was on Mother's day and the second time was yesterday, the middle of June. I couldn't even give them a hug. It makes me sad that this may be our "new normal", that i may never again get to wrap my arms arounds my mother's tiny little body. I'm thankful we live in small town USA. The virus and riots haven't really hit us here like it has in the biller towns and cities, but that doesn't make it any less scary. I am hopeful that once we come out of all this turmoil, our world will be a much better place. So stay safe and once all this is over, we'll have a big party where we will all give hugs!
