I've never been a very techie type. I prefer pen and paper over looking at a screen and typing. It seems so impersonal to me. Perhaps that is why I've only just begun to use apps on my tablet for drawing and painting. I guess I'm a purist. Not to mention i am 50 years old, or will be very soon. I first touched a pc back in 1983 in 8th grade, back in the day of DOS. I don't think I touched another pc until I was 23 an working retail. It was rather limited exposure though. Fast forward to 2012 when i buffaloed my way into working for a major mobile phone company as a customer service representative. I worked my way up to technical support, those were the days of Blackberrys and Sidekicks. Nowadays the closest i get to a computer is by way of my tablet and smart phone. I mention my computer history because this is where I'm at today...proud. I created this website using a web builder site all by myself. I am extremely proud of it, especially since the hard parts were done on the Library computer. What i didn't realize is the amount of time it takes to maintain and update a website, so i decided to get my first laptop. Here's where the dinosaur comes in... how in the world, if one is technically challenged, does one pick out a laptop? There are only about a million kinds. I decided to go with the least expensive, biggest screen and best known brand to me. So I get it home and think I'm so smart because I can add apps on it so it looks and acts like my phone! Simple right? Well let me tell you, it's so simple its difficult, lol. I had to take a lesson from my daughter on using spellcheck, I locked myself out of my editing account for the website ( it took 6 days to correct) and I lost a few personal photos. The positive side: i figured out how to delete over 48,000 emails at one time , sync/back up my photos create albums and clear up over 5GB of storage. I'm not an expert, but i believe, after spending 168 hours at this laptop, i could play one on TV.
