SPRING!!!!

I love spring. Not only the beauty of spring, with the green foliage and bright blue skies but i love the idea of spring. New beginnings, the gift of life, the promise of future abundance. I started looking around my garden this last weekend. I was looking for life under all the dead leaves that missed the tines of my rake last fall. upon first glance i see nothing. Just gray, soggy leaves. I dive in anyways and scrape the layers of fallen leaves from the pots. Out of 30 pots, about one quarter have the beautiful beginnings of young plants. For Oregon's High Desert, where I live, that's quite a bit of green for the early days of March. I see my strawberries coming back with leaves the size of a quarter. My chives are probably 2 inches long! I've even got the phlox I bought on sale last year coming back. Of course my potted white tulips and purple grape hyacinth are coming up nicely. I feel this will be an early summer and i am so excited for longer days and warmer weather. Spring means it's only a few short months until craft fair vending season. I have now until the beginning of may to get my booth samples ready. If you're
